Scouts get ready for the race of the year! Here are the scheduled events for our Pack 124 Pinewood Derby. Derby rules attached herein below. Pinewood derby is a chance for the boys to compete in a friendly and low pressure environment while exercising some of the values of Scouting...cooperation, honesty, resourcefulness, perseverance, respect and positive attitude. Just as important is the opportunity for Scouts and their Akela's (parents or other adults) to build a car and memories together. See you there!
Car Clinic - Saturday 1/14 @ 10AM Meet in the Church Hall to get started building the car with your Scout. Bring tools to share or just bring your car kit. Setup - Tuesday 1/24
6-7pm: The derby track and decorations will be setup.
7-8pm: Scouts are invited to bring their cars for a preliminary weigh in and test run. Race - Wednesday 1/25:
6:00pm: Doors open! Bring the whole family! Pizza, drinks, and snacks will be available for purchase. 6:30 -7pm: Derby cars will be weighed in 7:00pm-8:30: Race Time! In addition to awards for the fastest cars, there will also be awards for Best in Show from each den. Everyone is invited to judge the derby cars to pick their favorite! |
